Los Angeles, CA-One of Britain's biggest pop sensations, Natasha Bedingfield, chose a $1 million Mouawad natural color diamond necklace with Rio Tinto stones for her Oscar debut at the Elton John party on Sunday, March 5, 2006.
The necklace, which was handcrafted specifically for the Oscars, is made up of 474 individually set natural colored diamonds including pinks and champagnes for a total carat weight of 116.25. This amazing set of stones was supplied by Rio Tinto Diamonds' Argyle mine in Australia.
According to Pascal Mouawad, U.S. Director of Mouawad, "This spectacular necklace was possible due to the collaboration of three great organizations: Mouawad for the design and manufacturing, Rio Tinto for the diamonds, and the Natural Color Diamond Association for the coordination. We are thrilled to have a rising American star like Natasha wear this stunning and unusual piece of jewelry."
Natasha, a singer-songwriter whose debut album "Unwritten" went triple platinum in the U.K., is signed to Epic Records and is poised for a breakthrough on U.S. charts.
Mouawad, leading celebrity jeweler, is a century-old family-owned jewelry company. Its jewels have been worn by A-listers from the worlds of celebrity and music, including Jennifer Lopez, Nicole Kidman and Gwen Stefani, among many others.
