The famed haute jeweler hits Los Angeles with Heidi Klum and natural color diamonds

Los Angeles-Famed jeweler to the stars, Mouawad, traveled to Los Angeles in the week preceding the 2006 Academy Awards ceremony to promote two high-profile projects: a personal appearance by supermodel Heidi Klum for her collection for Mouawad, as well as a $1 million necklace created specifically for this year's ceremony.

The week started off with a trunk show/personal appearance with Heidi Klum at specialty fashion retailer Theodore at The Grove. Held on Wednesday, March 1, the event showcased nearly 100 pieces from the Heidi Klum Collection for Mouawad in an intimate, red carpet setting. After being interviewed by "Access Hollywood", "Extra" and "Inside Edition", Heidi and U.S. Director Pascal Mouawad met with celebrity guests Lisa Rinna (Dancing with the Stars), Don Sterling (Los Angeles Clippers owner), and Samantha Harris (Dancing with the Stars).

"I hope that Heidi's lucky charm can also be a bit of good fortune for each one of the very talented actresses nominated this year," Pascal Mouawad, head of Mouawad USA, explains. Heidi herself chose to wear one-of-a-kind clover designs from the Heidi Klum Collection for Mouawad when she attended the 2005 Primetime Emmy Awards for the nomination of Bravo's "Project Runway" on which she is an Executive Producer.

Now in its third year, the collection is based on Heidi's lucky charm: a four-sided clover design that she discovered in the Duomo in Italy while on vacation. Created in 18-karat gold, diamonds and gemstones, the collection has been seen on celebrities including Eva Longoria, Naomi Campbell and Kimberly Stewart. During Oscar week 2006, the Heidi Klum Collection for Mouawad was seen on Miss Ecuador at the Weinstein Company party sponsored by OK! Magazine on Saturday, March 4.

The week culminated at the annual Elton John Oscar party on Sunday, March 5, when UK pop sensation Natasha Bedingfield wore Mouawad's $1 million natural color diamond necklace to the event. The spectacular necklace, created with diamonds from Rio Tinto's famous Australian Argyle Mine, is made up of 474 individually set natural colored diamonds including pinks and champagnes for a total carat weight of 116.25.
