| ANDREA LIEBERMAN DEBUTS HER "LADY SPIKE" COLLECTION FOR JEWELRY HOUSE MOUAWAD Lady Spike Evolves Classic Jewelry for the Modern Woman Date: 18 September 2007 Top stylist, image-maker and designer, Andrea Lieberman, introduces her newest collection for Mouawad, "Lady Spike" is a modern, industrial-chic take on traditional jewelry, each piece destined to become a classic. Inspired by punk and street culture of the 80s, "Lady Spike" is a study in contrasts, juxtaposing sharp spikes with feminine pearls, pyramids with gemstones. The collection is reflective of Andrea's philosophy of finding beauty in imperfections to create pieces that make a strong statement for the wearer. "I'm so fortunate to have so many strong, independent women in my life and these are the people for whom "Lady Spike" is designed," said Lieberman. "This is a collection for women who buy and collect jewelry for themselves. They might want a tennis bracelet, but not the traditional diamond one; she needs modern, edgy pieces that reflect who she is and her place in the world." Building on the cult-status of her previous "Tribal" and "Bamboo" collections for Mouawad, Lieberman designed "Lady Spike" in her signature rose, yellow and beige 18 and 22 kt golds, perfect and organic diamonds and colored stones. The similarities end there: "Lady Spike" has a decidedly urban, street feel; which is a departure from Andrea's earlier, more organic work. "Lady Spike" has already become a favorite among celebrities. Items from the collection have been seen on Madonna, Gwen Stefani, Jennifer Lopez and Ellen Pompeo. Andrea's jewelry has been featured in the pages of Harper's Bazaar, Elle, W, and other top fashion publications. Andrea Lieberman for Mouawad can be found at Barney's New York and Maxfield in Los Angeles. Prices range from $500 to $30,000. |
