Mouawad Creates Love Naturally Necklace for International Design Competition and Exhibition Diamonds: Nature's Miracle Date: 21 October 2004 Venice, Italy - Mouawad created the Love Naturally necklace for the Diamond Trading Company's (DTC), Diamonds: Nature's Miracle event. This unique international design competition and exhibition showcased a $15 million collection of stunning diamond jewelry. Each piece was inspired by one of nature's most precious creations - the diamond. "It is an honor to participate in this spectacular event dedicated to diamonds. Mouawad seemed like a perfect fit because of our exceptional collection of diamonds and our expertise in design. The Love Naturally necklace captures nature, love and diamonds," stated Vice-President, Pascal Mouawad. The Love Naturally necklace is an organic creation that fuses nature with the emotional and mystical side of diamonds. The rose-cut white diamonds represent the flower from which they take their name - roses. These beautiful flowers are used universally to celebrate the love two people share - just like diamonds, which are regarded as the ultimate way to express one's deep emotions. The brown diamond briolettes in the necklace gently cascade down like water droplets from the 18kt white gold stems. They represent the ancient Greek belief that diamonds were the tears of the Gods, falling from the sky and touching two lovers to grow the feelings they had for one another. The necklace was created using 22.87cts of white and brown diamonds. Diamonds: Nature's Miracle showcases the creativity and talent of designers from nearly 20 different countries and all facets of the diamond industry. The 49 pieces that make up the collection compromise the winning creations from DTC's international design competition as well as stylish pieces from 10 of the world's leading international design houses. The exhibit will be available for public viewing from October 22-24th at the Fondazione Giorgio Cini. About Mouawad: Mouawad, a name well known to Europeans for haute joaillierie, is as celebrated for its extensive collection of unique diamonds as its cutting-edge design and retail philosophy. Founded in 1890 by master watchmaker and family patriarch David Mouawad, the company supplied important jewels to many European royal houses and wealthy individuals. Today Mouawad continues that tradition in a modern way by adorning the necks, ears and wrists of today's "royalty" -- supermodels, singers, actresses and women of style from across the globe. Some of the famous faces that have been seen donning Mouawad include Kylie Minogue, Britney Spears, Liz Hurley and Elizabeth Taylor, just to name a few. | |||
